SEAN
O’HALLORAN
has been working as a director of photography in the independent film
communitty for 23 years. He approaches film as a language that is
ever-evolving much like spoken languages. In this aspect, he is
multi-lingual with dual citizenship in fiction and non-fiction alike.
He prefers to keep it all cinematic as that is his primary language.
His style varies depending on the material at-hand. Guerilla warfare,
artistic manipulation, docu-style, MTV nuance and cinematic epic all
come easily to him.
Video and HD is the new paintbrush and medium with which the images are
created. It does not replace film. It is simply another more economic
way of recording the moment. This moment is then preserved and
presented to viewers across time and space into a fourth dimensional
event.
This is filmmaking. This is story-telling. This is a multi-lingual
medium when you needn't open your mouth and everybody knows what's
going to happen next — or not.
